คุณอาจจะยักย้ายส่ายสะโพกแล้วลงไปแหกแข้งแหกขาบนพื้น หรือทำตัวร้ายเหยียดในเหยียดใส่คนอื่นแต่สิ่งเหล่านี้อาจจะไม่ใช่โวคที่คุณเข้าใจ เพราะโวคไม่ใช่เพียงแค่การเต้นแต่มันคือวัฒนธรรมและมีประวัติศาสตร์ที่คุณต้องรู้หากจะเป็นโวคเกอร์

โวคคือวัฒนธรรมย่อยที่ถูกสร้างโดยกลุ่ม LGBTQ ในนิวยอร์คปี 50s โวคได้แรงบันดาลใจจากนิตยสารโวคและเป็นพื้นที่สำหรับคนที่ยากจะหาที่อยู่ที่ยืนในสังคมมา เป็นพื้นที่ที่ได้เป็นตัวเองและหลบหนีจากความจริงที่ทุกคนตัดสินคุณด้วยสีผิว ความรู้สึกทางเพศ เพศสภาพ (Sex) และเพศสภาวะ (Gender)

ซันย่า ( พิทยา แพเฟื่อง) ศึกษาการเต้นร่วมสมัยและสมัยใหม่ที่ Oslo National Academy of the Arts และร่วมงานกับศิลปินและภัณฑารักษ์ชื่อดังมากมายเช่น พิเชษฐ์ กลั่นชื่น, Tang Fu Kuen, Daniel Kok, Cheng Ta Yu และ Jereh Leung เป็นต้น เขาสนใจวัฒนธรรมโวคที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นในกลุ่ม LGBT ในนิวยอร์คและเข้าร่วมกลุ่ม House of Amazon ที่ถูกก่อตั้งโดย Mother Leiomy Maldonado โวคเกอร์ในตำนานของนิวยอร์ค

หลังจากนั้นเขาได้เข้าร่วมการแข่งขันโวคในเอเชียและชนะในหลายการแข่งขันเช่น Virgin Vogue, Vogue femme dramatics, face, runway และ sex sirens

เกี่ยวกับเทนทาเคิล

เทนทาเคิล (Tentacles) ก่อตั้งเมื่อ ปี พ.ศ. 2557 เป็นองค์กรศิลปะที่เปิดพื้นที่ให้กับบุคคลผู้ทำงานด้านศิลปะวัฒนธรรม การออกแบบและบุคคลทั่วไป เป็นที่นำเสนอผลงาน แลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองความคิดและขับเคลื่อนองค์ความรู้ในประเด็นทางสังคมและวัฒนธรรม รวมถึงการทดลองสร้างสรรค์ต่างๆ ผ่านการจัดกิจกรรม เช่น นิทรรศการศิลปะ การจัดเสวนา และโครงการศิลปินพำนัก (Artist Residency Program) ที่เปิดโอกาสให้ศิลปินไทยและต่างชาติได้มีพื้นที่ในการผลิตผลงาน เรียนรู้และทดลองสิ่งใหม่ๆ นอกจากนี้เทนทาเคิลยังร่วมงานกับองค์กรในต่างประเทศ จัดโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนศิลปินเพื่อให้ศิลปินไทยได้มีโอกาสไปทำงานศิลปะและสร้างเครือข่ายในระดับนานาชาติรวมถึงการจัดกิจกรรมเวิร์คช็อปงานศิลปะและงานฝีมือสำหรับบุคคลทั่วไปและกิจกรรมในเชิงสร้างสรรคอื่นๆ

You can move your hips, do the dip and be shady but it’s not really voguing. There is a deep history of this subculture that you need to understand, if you want to be a voguer.

Vogue is a subculture that was created by New York LGBTQ community during the 50s. Inspired by magazine Vogue and it’s always belongs to ones who difficulty find place in community.It’s a space where you can be yourself, an escape from the reality where people judge you for your color of your skin, sexuality, gender or sex.

Let’s have a kiki with Sunya, the artists and voguer at Tentacles. The artist will talk about how vogue culture has been conceived. This event is an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and engage in conversation with the artist.



About Artist :

Sunya ( Phitthaya Phaefuang) studied contemporary and modern dance at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. He has been cooperating with many artist and curator like Pichet Klunchun, Tang Fu Kuen, Daniel Kok, Cheng Ta Yu and Jereh Leung etc.

He got interested in the vogue culture which is generated from the LGBT community in New York and got into the house of Amazon which is ruled by Mother Leiomy Maldonado, a legendary voguer from New York.

Since then he has been competing in so-called vogue balls in Asia and has been winning some grand prizes in Virgin vogue, Vogue femme dramatics, face, runway and sex sirens.

TENTACLES is an art initiative founded in 2014. Tentacles focus on providing platform for emerging and experimental creative practitioners by hosting regular exhibitions and residency program for artists and researchers looking to spend time in Bangkok, to focus on their practices, as well as engage with local communities. Tentacles also act as a venue for collaboration and exchange of ideas in the wider social and cultural fields, by organising events such as seminars, artist’s talks, film screening. We collaborate with partner organisations in Thailand and overseas, to facilitate cultural exchange programmes.
