Course outline

Morning Session

: Helping Children with Primary Mathematics

- Parents will have a clearer idea of the requirements and demands of the transition from Kindergarten education to Primary education.

- The Singapore Model drawing method is also discussed and parents will have hands on experience on how to use this method to solve word problems.

 - Parents will analyze the mathematical framework and have a better understanding of what their children are learning in school.

- Discussion on the challenging aspects of mathematics and use of heuristics to solve word problems at different levels.

Afternoon Session

: Helping Children with Challenging Mathematics Problems

- Building confident in guiding your children in using the different methods and thought processes to solve challenging mathematics questions.

- Teaching parents how to coach the child to solve challenging mathematics problem

- Organizing information to reduce the difficulty of the complex problems.

- Using Polya’s 4 phase method of problem solving, Newman’s 5 step model in addition to two processes namely, thinking skills and heuristics, will be covered.

- Other different types of models used in solving word problems will also be provided.

a) 2,800 THB included course fee, course materials, Mathematic Book (2016 Version) breaks and lunch for one person. 

b) 5,000 THB included course fee, course materials, Mathematic Book (2016 Version) breaks and lunch for two person. 

** Additional 350 THB per person will be charged for extra children or a caretaker
