Join Mariana Villalobos Torres of Barrio Bonito at The Commons - Thonglor 17 for this mouth-watering salsa making workshop!
A new approach to our old technique of making salsas and how to use the new tools to get the same old style result.
We will start by introducing you with the story and the importance of the “SALSAS” in our Mexican gastronomy.
It is not only a main flavor factor in our cuisine, but also the representation of the multicultural mix our country is founded in.
Along the story of the Mexican gastronomy development we put together precolonial ingredients like: corn, chili, avocado, cocoa, and also some of the bugs we still eat; with some of the ingredients that were brought by the Spaniards such as: lamb, rice, anise, just to name a few.
Ingredients that with the time we learned how to put together but creating or modifying some cooking techniques; that is the reason why Mexican Gastronomy is since November the 16th of 2010 a part of the World Heritage of the UNESCO.
The main ingredient into this flavorful Mexican world of ours is called Salsas and they are not only there to add a little touch to our very elaborated dishes but they have been used for years as the unifier ingredient into this massive cultural melting pot.
I will teach you how to make fresh cold or hot salsas and how a tiny ingredient can change the flavor on your recipe. And I will also explain you and show you the difference between the textures of these salsas. An honest little trip into my Mexico Lindo with the only objective of making your parties a bit spicier!
