iDiscovery คือ แอปพลิเคชั่นที่จะช่วยเพิ่มประสบการณ์อันน่าประทับใจในการท่องเที่ยวไปในเมืองต่าง ๆ ทั่วโลก จากการให้ข้อมูลแนะนำการท่องเที่ยว ไม่ว่าจะเป็นแผนที่ สถานที่ท่องเที่ยว ร้านอาหาร โรงแรมที่พัก เรื่องราวประวัติศาสตร์ สังคมและวัฒนธรรมของเมืองนั้นๆ ก่อให้เกิดผลประโยชน์ในด้านต่าง ๆ ตามมาอีกมากมาย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการท่องเที่ยวและเศรษฐกิจ ปัจจุบันนี้มีแอป iDiscover ของเมืองสำคัญต่าง ๆ ทั่วโลก รวมไปถึงในทวีปเอเซีย และจะดีแค่ไหน ถ้าเรามี iDiscover ของเมืองกรุงเทพฯ ขอเชิญผู้ที่สนใจเข้าร่วมรับฟังความคืบหน้าและกระบวนการขั้นตอนที่จะทำให้เกิด iDiscover ฺBangkok ในการบรรยายในครั้งนี้

          Imagine a map that is creatively designed to give travellers a personalised and enriching travel experience. Imagine curating an itinerary by consulting a guide that’s been created by locals, designed by locals and powered by locals; a guide that suggests what to eat, see and experience, which has been put together by people who are intimately well versed with the place, perhaps since generations. Wouldn’t that be fantastic?

What is iDiscover?

              iDiscover is an illustrated map combined with a savvy (free) app, featuring community curated heritage trails in historic neighbourhoods in Asian cities. The App&Map is a tool for:

              Storytelling & Cultural Mapping – documenting the spirit of place and the stories behind heritage sites, traditional business, unique food, cultural events, artists and colourful characters 

              Community & Stakeholder Dialogue – through the community curative process and series of associated events (instameet, block party, amazing race) we create a positive place making/branding dialogue between the old and young generation in a neighbourhood as well as between different stakeholders: small business owners, government, civil society, hotels and developers.

              Awareness Raising & Engagement of young people – repackaging old stories in new technology to make heritage accessible and relevant for young urban professionals, creatives, students and independent travellers 

              We currently have over 50 routes live in Hong Kong, Macau, Yangon, Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Colombo, Chang Mai, Lampang and Manila and another 12 in the making. We would love to expand to Bangkok and already have support of the American Embassy. In Bangkok we are among others following the footsteps of Dr Bradley who is credited with bringing the first Thai-script printing press to Siam, publishing the first Thai newspaper, performing the first surgery in Siam, and introducing Western medicine and technology.
