XHIBITION IN THE DARK

Xhibition in the dark is an exhibition that showcases the artist's experimentation more than the usual art presentation. With big principles to explore human beings, big data technology, or algorithm systems in today's digital technology age, the concept of kinetic space, the space representing the motion energy of objects or particles. These are not presented in lit spaces but in a dimly dark space. As the belief of the artist that the best images are those seen in the dark. The best areas are those where the destination is unknown. We cannot distinguish between reality and illusion by sight and perception with the eyes. All we can rely on are our thoughts and our instincts that come from brains and hearts.

The exhibition consists of 4 contexts:

▪ Tree of Knowledge

An art installation of printed and online databases relevant to big data in art, architecture, literature, music, and politics. The issue of faith and belief through a repository of information and knowledge that artists have accumulated over decades.

▪ New York, New York

The artist's installation of witnesses and collectible objects. From working with world-class organizations in the world's center of power, business, art, and design, New York.

▪ You are what you eat

Algorithm process of experience, passion, education, and the way of life, to one's identity.

▪ Kinetic Space

Interactive installations of space that showcase the moving energy of objects or particles. Where the audience can participate in the creative process and determine the outcome of the work.

The exhibition also displays the paintings, drawings, and artist’s books (Algorithm 2021), which is one of the creative notes the artist has accumulated over his experience.

About artist

About the Artist

Chookiat Likitpunyarut graduated from the Faculty of Decorative Arts (Interior Design), Silpakorn University, and Interior and Environmental Design from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York. He was an interior designer and brand builder, who participated in many world-class brands, i.e. American Express, Northwest Airlines, Citibank, Fuji Bank. He was a design consultant for Thailand leading agencies and organizations such as PTT, Thai Airways International, Cathay Trust, Baan Lae Suan Fair, and inter-leading design brands such as Knoll, Landor, Interbrand, and brandcreate. He was also an illustrator for some of the world's leading publications such as The New York Times, Book Review, and Business Week. Chookiat currently devotes his time to creating, experimenting, and discovering new knowledge.
