The New Ark project derives from the Old Testament's ‘Ark of the Covenant’, a gold-covered wooden chest that contained the original 10 commandments, the basic rules given by the Jewish god to his people to obey.
This sacred artifact was eventually stolen during one of the invasions of Jerusalem (597 B.C.). Centuries later, people from all over the world have been trying to find the Ark. Indiana Jones found it during Steven Spielberg’s classic, but in reality, it seems to be gone forever.
With the original ark gone, the rules between humans and the sacred seem to have disappeared as well. We treat our planet, animals, and other beings with no sense of responsibility to a point that we are endangering our own existence.
The creation of a ‘New Ark’ follows Director Jacq’s quest to revive and reconnect the universal bond that keeps all life together. His ark also contains 10 rules, not given by any god, but present and measurable in any aspect of existence: the universal rules of the sacred geometry. From the way plants grow or the human body is proportioned to the distance between planets and music notes, these exact mathematical similarities are a constant reminder of the universal unifying principles of life.
About the Organizer
Art Can Die starts here in Bangkok with a world tour of The New Ark to express this message of unity and to invite the human family to an existential rebirth. On its tour, artists are being invited to create their own vision for this new revival. How to create art that can help everyone to renounce the destructive behavior, to reconnect a bond with nature and to take steps towards a life in balance and respect with our environment.
