OPEN’ is an experimental pop-up exhibition created by international artist Reggie Black. ‘OPEN’ will visually illustrate Reggie’s time living and creating in Bangkok by merging cultural as well as environmental elements with his multimedia artistic disciplines. Designed and curated as a multilayered experience at Project 189 Bangkok, “OPEN’ will include retail experiences, a specialty coffee pop-up, artist talks, and studio sessions.

On selected days, attendees are invited to visit the gallery for artist studio sessions where new artworks will be produced. Attendees will have an opportunity to discuss as well as view Reggie’s creative process. The closing night of the exhibition will include artworks created during the studio sessions to offer a new installation experience.

OPEN is apart of the Chinanatown Fair 2018 and the Thailand Creative & Design Center(TCDC) Bangkok Design WEEK 2018 : The New-ist Vibes Forward Design, Soi Nana residents are hosting 'Chinanatown Fair 2018'. Chinanatown Fair 2018 is a creativity focused event that combines arts, architecture and design. Open house of artist and design studios, creative street market, art and design exhibitions and a block party will be hosted by the residents.

About Reggie Black

Reggie Black is a multimedia artist exploring the world of creativity through abstract typography, art, culture, travel, and curiosity. He uses language and visuals to create thought provoking juxtapositions, questions and statements to intellectually challenge the public through experiences and products. Currently living in Bangkok, Thailand Reggie is originally from Washington, DC and he’s on a quest to redesign the way we interact with art and the human condition.

About Chinanatown Fair 2018

Chinanatown Fair is a creativity focused event that combines arts, architecture and design. Open house of artist and design studios, creative street market, art and design exhibitions and a block party will be hosted by the residents. The neighborhood’s many unique bars and restaurants will also be parts of Chinanatown Fair providing food and drinks. Installation of original art and design works will be displayed through out the community.

Chinanatown Fair will be held in Soi Nana neighborhood which is one of the original creative neighborhoods of Bangkok. Locating at the edge of Chinatown within the old city, artists and designers started moving into Soi Nana more than a decade ago creating unique working environment that supports each other. The area is now famous for having many well-recognized bars and restaurant situating between artist and design studios.
