Join us to support Min Min Hein; a Myanmar filmmaker, as he showcases a variety of his short films on Friday 23rd at 7pm in the IFB Media room near Parasol Restuarant. Entry to the screening is free. Each film is based on a topic relating to Myanmar ranging from people, places, and culture.
A portion of proceeds that night from food and drinks at Parasol will go towards supporting Min's travel costs to Switzerland to attend the Zurich Film Festival. On September 28th he will be the first Myanmar filmmaker attendee and will be a participant in filmatography Masterclasses during his trip.

1. Monks
Solidarity among young novices who live and study together in a Monastery in Yangon.
2. A Treasure of The Dry Zone
A Treasure of the Dry Zone is short documentary about the traditional way of producing peanut in the dry zone of Myanmar, which is the healthiest and most environmentally conscious technique. This practice has diminished greatly over the years.
3. At The Horizon
A lonely senior woman waiting expecting to have visitor but ends up being alone.
4. Hope
Monks and people from a monastic school are seeking to achieve their hopes in their own terms and perspectives.
5. Listen
Exiled from her homeland of Myanmar, revolutionary artist Chaw Ei Thein uses performance art and artwork to raise awareness about political repression, manifest her dissent, and express her fears and inner struggles.
Min Min Hein began his career as a film director and producer in 2013 with a short documentary film titled “Monks.” The film won the Best Documentary Award in the Solidarity Shorts International Film Contest held in Warsaw, Poland. Min has participated as a directing fellow of the Asian Film Academy, has received a Master of Fine Arts in Film at the City Collage of New York as a Fulbright scholar. Min is the first recipient of the Myanmar/US Fulbright Scholarship in Film.
Min is the founder of BurmaCat Films; an independent film production company based in Yangon. He is currently developing his debut feature-length documentary film about a traditional woman dancer from Myanmar.
