Social distancing and physical distancing are both new terms and practices that emerged rapidly following the COVID-19 epidemic. The government wants to keep people at home by taking measures. However, following these measures and practices is so unequal that many people are left behind, whether it is the problem of ineffective unemployment assistance measures, delayed and non-comprehensive registrations for remedies, or unreturned social security payments to both Thai and foreign workers when needed.
The term of ‘distance’ in this exhibition refers not only to physical distance, but also to the distance that occurs in a society, where inequality is hidden. The purpose is to make that inequality more pronounced and be a mouthpiece for the people who are still in those gaps, to raise awareness of the existence of people as part of society, where diversity should be treated on the same basis.
