JASON PHU

Jason’s multi-disciplinary practice brings together a wide range of, sometimes contradictory, references from traditional ink paintings to street art, everyday vernacular to official records, personal narratives to historical events. Working across installation, painting and performance, the artist frequently uses humour as a device to explore experiences of cultural dislocation. He often uses the stories of ghosts, spirits, demons and gods in Chinese culture as a personification of these concepts.

Recently he has shown in the Dobell Drawing Biennale 2018 at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, The Burrangong Affray at the 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art,  Primavera 2018 at the Museum of Contemporary Art and was commissioned for the Sydney Opera House 2019 Art Assembly commission.  In 2019 he has also had solo shows at commerical galleries Chalk Horse (Sydney), Vermilion Art (Sydney) and Station Gallery (Melbourne).

MANIPA JAYAWAN

A contemporary curator and industrial designer by training, who worked as the chairperson of Bangkok University Gallery (BUG) for seven years. She presently runs an art space called “CASE Space Revolution” for over three years, a creative social space where multidisciplinary works in both art and design, educational programs and activities have been continuously organized for the community and the public.

She has a strong vision to expand art lovers and to generate art programs in comprehensive ways in order to make public and local communities realize and appreciate the value of arts and culture, which are part of our way of life. In addition, to the relationship of art institution networks, artists, galleries and all alliance are perpetually connected through the projects and the external connections to create new ideas and opportunities.

JONGSUWAT ANGSUVARNSIRI
