Designers and brands often question how to carry product designs beyond their comfort zones. One answer is through collaboration with different areas of expertise. Explore the challenges and results of the product designs from the Tai-Thai Design Collaboration project II, a bilateral platform of Creative Economy Agency, Public Organization (Thailand) and Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (Taiwan).
Discover product design collaborations between Thinkk Studio x Paper Shoot and ease Studio x Fabcraft Design Lab that span six months of conceptual design, product development, prototype, exhibition (“Material in Motion” at Songyan Gallery in Taipei), and finally the debut of two new products at STYLE Bangkok 2019.

Thinkk & Shoot
Design Team:
THINKK Studio is a design team that has won numerous prizes and design awards. It was created in 2008 by architect Ploypan Theerachai and designer Decha Archjananun. Projects designed by THINKK Studio include office supplies, home furniture, and even hotel interior designs. The THINKK team designers teach in Thai universities in related courses to help local Thai craft communities, and offer consulting in product development, brand design, exhibit planning, etc.
THINKK Studio สตูดิโอออกแบบจากประเทศไทยที่ได้รับรางวัลด้านการออกแบบมากมาย ก่อตั้งขึ้นโดย พลอยพรรณ ธีรชัย และเดชา อรรจนานันท์ ในปี พ.ศ. 2551 มีผลงานออกแบบที่หลากหลาย ตั้งแต่การออกแบบเครื่องใช้ในสำนักงาน ของใช้ในบ้าน ไปจนถึงการออกแบบภายในโรงแรม นอกจากงานในสตูดิโอแล้ว ทั้งสองยังมีบทบาทในการช่วยชุมชนช่างฝีมือท้องถิ่นพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ เป็นที่ปรึกษาให้แบรนด์ต่างๆ รับหน้าที่ภัณฑารักษ์ในงานจัดแสดง งานเขียนบทความ และงานสอนที่มหาวิทยาลัย อีกด้วย
Paper Shoot was created by technology engineer George Lin in 2013. Its focus centers around the cultural and creative industry, technology, humanities, and environmental protection. To create Taiwan’s own digital camera brand, Paper Shoot utilizes Taiwan’s advantages in soft power and optical technology, combining one-of-a-kind designs, art, Life Style, education, philanthropy, and collections to customize and increase value for users’ design features. It breaks through the conflict with 3C products and creates its own market in brand production.
Paper Shoot ก่อตั้งโดยจอร์จ ลิน วิศวกรด้านเทคโนโลยี ในปี พ.ศ. 2556 โดยให้ความสำคัญกับความคิดสร้างสรรค์ วัฒนธรรม เทคโนโลยี ความเป็นมนุษย์ และผลิตภัณฑ์ที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อม และเพื่อที่จะสร้างแบรนด์กล้องถ่ายรูปดิจิทัลของไต้หวัน จึงได้ใช้เทคโนโลยีด้านแสงซึ่งเป็นจุดเด่นของประเทศไต้หวัน ผสมผสานกับ การออกแบบที่มีเอกลักษณ์ ศิลปะ การใช้ชีวิต การศึกษา ความเป็นประโยชน์ต่อสาธารณะ และการเก็บสะสมของต่างๆ เพื่อสร้างคุณค่าเฉพาะตัวให้กับผลิตภัณฑ์ แบรนด์ Paper Shoot ได้ก้าวผ่านสนามการแข่งขันด้วยผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ตอบโจทย์ลูกค้า แตกต่างจากคู่แข่ง และเป็นแบรนด์ที่ไม่มีใครเหมือน สามารถสร้างตลาดของตนเองได้

ease was founded, designed, and created in 2014 by Thailand’s embroidery design studio and a 30-year family-business embroidery factory based in Bangkok. It creates numerous styles of innovative embroidery works through industrial mass production and handcrafts. The recreation of their works reflects everyday objects that are simple yet meaningful. Designers Nichepak Torsutanok and Wanus Choketaweesak observe and find things in their everyday lives and incorporate their crafts and emotional values into their products, giving rise to the awareness that designs can be an important element in life.
ease ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. 2557 เป็นสตูดิโอออกแบบเย็บปักถักร้อยในกรุงเทพมหานคร ต่อยอดจากธุรกิจงานปัก ของครอบครัวที่ทำมานานกว่า 30 ปี ได้สร้างสรรค์วิธีใหม่ๆในการสร้างงานปักอย่างมากมาย ใช้งานฝีมือในการสร้างคุณค่าของผลงาน ผลงานต่างๆได้สร้าง และสะท้อนผ่านของใช้ในชีวิตประจำวันที่ธรรมดา ให้มีความหมายขึ้นใหม่ นักออกแบบและผู้ร่วมก่อตั้ง คุณณิชภัค ต่อสุทธิ์กนก และคุณวนัส โชคทวีศักดิ์ สังเกต สำรวจ และค้นหา สิ่งต่างๆรอบตัว ผสมผสานจิตวิญญาณของศิลปะและคุณค่าเข้าไปในสินค้า ทำให้เห็นความสำคัญว่าการออกแบบสามารถเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการดำรงชีวิตได้
Fabcraft Design Lab was founded in 2013, and its brand name comes from the combination of “Fabrication” and “Craft.” Designer Kamm Kai Yu uses digital manufacturing to achieve handcrafts’ superb features. It livens up technology and brings in the warmth of handcraft cultures, to produce a unique digital-craft style.
FabCraft Design Lab ก่อตั้งเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2556 FabCraft เกิดจากการสมาสคำว่า Fabrication ซึ่งหมายถึงการผลิต และ Craft คืองานฝีมือ แคม ไค ยู นักออกแบบและผู้ก่อตั้ง มีแนวคิดในการใช้วิธีการผลิตแบบดิจิทัล เพื่อให้ได้สินค้างานฝีมือที่มีความประณีต ทำให้เทคโนโลยีไม่ถูกจำกัดอยู่กับเพียงการผลิต แต่ได้หลอมเอาวัฒนธรรมงานฝีมือเข้าไปด้วย ทำให้เกิดสไตล์งานฝีมือแบบดิจิทัลที่มีความเป็นเอกลักษณ์ ไม่เหมือนใคร
