ความคิดและความรู้สึกในเรื่องบ้านเป็นสิ่งที่ทำให้ผู้คนทุกชนชั้น ทุกเชื้อชาติต่างรู้ถึงสถานะและรู้ตำแหน่งแห่งที่ของตัวเองในสังคม สำหรับนิทรรศการ THE BROKEN LADDER นี้เป็นการนำเสนอเชิงวิพากษ์เกี่ยวกับแนวคิดเรื่องบ้าน การมีบ้าน แทนที่จะเป็นการศึกษาบ้านในมุมของความมั่นคงทางจิตใจ วันทนีย์ ศิริพัฒนานันทกูร กลับสะท้อนมันออกมาในประเด็นเรื่องความเท่าเทียมกันของมนุษย์ด้วยวิธีการสำรวจสิทธิในการครอบครองบ้านของประชาชน และนำไปสู่การค้นพบเรื่องการเมืองของการครอบครองในตอนท้ายสุด บ้าน หนึ่งในปัจจัย 4 ที่ผู้คนเรียกว่าทรัพย์สิน แท้จริงแล้วเป็นเพียงแค่การครอบครองในเชิงสัญลักษณ์ที่นักเล่นแร่แปรธาตุที่มีอำนาจสูงสุดทั้งหลายทำการเปลี่ยนดินให้กลายเป็นทอง การครอบครองจึงไม่ได้มีความหมายถึงการถือครองตลอดไป ด้วยเหตุนี้ ความสามารถในการครอบครองบ้านที่จำกัดอยู่ในมือคนเพียงไม่กี่กลุ่มจึงเป็นหลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ยืนยันให้เห็นว่าบันไดทางสังคมนั้นมันถูกทำให้หักไป นี่จึงตอบคำถามว่าทำไมภายใต้ฟ้าเดียวกัน เราจึงไม่เคยอยู่ในระนาบเดียวกันเลย

The idea and feeling of house makes people of every class realise that who they are and where they belong in the society. THE BROKEN LADDER is the critical art project that represent another concept of house. Instead of study house as human physical stability, Wantanee Siripattananuntakul reflects it as a human equality by exploring the rights to occupy house property of demos and find the politics of possession in the end. House, the one of four basic needs that we called property, is actually symbolic possession that autocratic alchemists turn soils into gold. The possession does not mean possession permanently. Housing price is and objective evidence that show the social ladder is broken. That’s why under the same sky, we are not in the same horizon.
