LIFE AFTER DEATH
The first solo exhibition by Matikorn Yurata
My inspiration was from those fairytales and Thai believes including Buddhist teachings that I read or listened to in my growing up years. They became something I really believe and applied in everyday life. I am particularly interested in life after death, this I would say it’s from my observation that we are all will grow old then get sick and die. It’s a law of nature which is unavoidable.
Where do we go after death? This has always been something I’m curious of until now. This collection was painted from my insight that I felt in my mind about the change of life form from one life to another. The spirits were being transferred to another realm. I expressed it in a way that I can relate to myself. I hope this set of painting would help as a reminder that that day will come for everyone.
Good deeds and merit making is important to our souls
