“Imaginary Land”

“Imaginary Land” is the second solo exhibition of Phadungsak Kheawpong. His art works are relatable to what he had faced, during his life in a big city. The main content is more about human society and the conventional truth for instance politics, rituals, and cultures. The artist had studied about historical heritages with the aim of exposing the real inner society and expressed about the reality of the world through his characteristically imagination with the symbols of humans, animals and things both existence and inexistence.

The artist represented the aspect of Utopia island which he created by his own notion. The object on the table is indicated the story of the artist’s assumption which he tried to put in the symbols instead of the truth. It can be told that this is the art of self conversation space that influenced by memories and imaginations as it is a diary of dreams which complied by subconscious mind. Moreover, he had accumulated to get expressed through the art work on creating Utopia Island. The artist is god himself who is able to create or destroy everything in his individual thought and world.

“Imaginary Land” นิทรรศการเดี่ยวครั้งที่ 2 ของผดุงศักดิ์ เขียวผ่อง ด้วยจังหวะของศิลปินที่ได้เข้ามาใช้ชีวิตในเมือง งานจึงมีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวข้องกับเรื่องของสังคมมนุษย์ โดยศิลปินสนใจในเรื่องสมมุติสัจจะ สิ่งสมมุติที่มนุษย์สร้างขึ้นเช่น การเมือง ประเพณี วัฒนธรรม โดยศึกษาผ่านมรดกทางประวัติศาสตร์ มุ่งประเด็นในการกระเทาะเปลือกสังคม ศิลปินเน้นไปในการเล่าเรื่องของภาวะโลก ด้วยมุมมองจากจินตนาการของศิลปินเอง ผ่านสัญลักษณ์ คน สัตว์ สิ่งของทั้งที่มีอยู่จริงและไม่มีจริง

ศิลปินนำเสนอลักษณะของเกาะยูโทเปียที่สร้างขึ้นบนโต๊ะความคิด วัตถุบนโต๊ะที่แสดงถึงเรื่องราวตามเนื้อหาสมมุติฐานของศิลปินที่พยายามแทรกสัญลักษณ์แทนภาวะของความเป็นจริง อาจพูดได้ว่าเป็นพื้นที่การสนทนาระหว่างตัวตนที่มีอิทธิพลจากความทรงจำและจินตนาการ ถ่ายทอดผ่านทัศนะคติที่ต้องการสร้างเกาะยูโทเปียให้เกิดขึ้น พื้นที่ที่เปรียบเสมือนศิลปินเป็นพระเจ้าในงานที่สามารถสร้างหรือลบทุกสิ่งได้ในโลกส่วนตัวของศิลปินเอง
