เนื่องในวันสตรีสากล องค์การเพื่อการส่งเสริมความเสมอภาคระหว่างเพศและเพิ่มพลังของผู้หญิงแห่งสหประชาชาติ (UN Women) และโครงการฮีฟอร์ชี (HeForShe) จัดเทศกาลศิลปะ #HeForShe #ArtsWeekBangkok ในระหว่างวันที่ 8 – 15 มีนาคม 2560 ณ กรุงเทพมหาคร ซึ่งจัดคู่ขนานไปพร้อมๆกันตามเมืองใหญ่ในแต่ละประเทศ ได้แก่ ลอนดอน นิวยอร์ก มาดริด ปานามาซิตี้ ปารีส ซานติอาโก และ เซาเปาโล

เทศกาลศิลปะ #HeForShe #ArtsWeekBangkok นี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเพิ่มความตระหนักรู้ในด้านความเท่าเทียมทางเพศสู่สังคม โดยชี้ให้เห็นถึงความไม่เท่าเทียมทางเพศผ่านศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมในรูปแบบต่างๆ นอกจากนี้ยังเป็นการสร้างพื้นที่ให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคมที่มีความเท่าเทียมทางเพศเกิดขึ้น โดยรณรงค์ให้ผู้ชายและเด็กชายมีส่วนร่วมในการยืนหยัดเพื่อผู้หญิง

ภายในเทศกาล จะจัดแสดงผลงานสร้างสรรค์อันเกี่ยวกับศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมที่จะยกระดับให้ประเด็นความเท่าเทียมทางเพศกลายเป็นประเด็นสาธารณะ นอกจากนี้ยังมีวิทยากรที่มีความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับ #UNWomen และจิตวิญญาณของ HeforShe เข้าร่วมเทศกาลนี้เพื่อที่จะสร้างแรงบันดาลใจให้กับสังคมเพื่อเปลี่ยนทิศทางของวัฒนธรรมไปในทางที่ดีขึ้น โดยเทศกาลภาพยนตร์ฮีฟอร์ชี (HeForShe Arts Week Bangkok Film Festival) จะมีการจัดขึ้น ในหว่างวันที่ 9-12 มีนาคม 2560 ณ โรงภาพยนตร์ เอส เอฟ เวิล์ด ซีเนม่า ห้างสรรพสินค้าเซนทรัลเวิล์ด (We love SF) กรุงเทพมหานคร ซึ่งบูธแจกบัตรเข้าชมภาพยนตร์จะตั้งอยู่ด้านหน้าโรงภาพยนตร์ และจะเริ่มทำการแจกบัตรภาพยนตร์ 30 นาทีก่อนทำการฉายภาพยนตร์ อีกทั้ง ภาพยนตร์ทุกเรื่องมีการบรรยายเป็นภาษาไทยและภาษาอังกฤษ ส่วนนิทรรศการ การอภิปรายแบบหมู่คณะ และการแสดงต่างๆ จะมีการจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 8 – 15 มีนาคม 2560 ที่ Bacc หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร และจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย (Chulalongkorn University)

Perfectly timed with International Women’s Day and synchronized with other similar events in main capitals of the World -London, New York, Madrid, Panama City, Paris, Santiago de Chile and Sao Paulo- the weeklong event #HeForShe #ArtsWeekBangkok takes place from 8th to 15th March 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The event aims to raise public awareness -thought arts and culture- of the multiple forms of gender inequality continue to face around the world, and to mobilize broad support for shifting culture to a more gender equal society, where the participation of men and boys as agents of change is crucial.

There will be a number of initiatives related to arts and culture that will bring gender equality to the forefront of the public sphere. Different featuring speakers that embody the vision of #UNWomen and the spirit of HeForShe will participate of these events in the heart of the city, and inspire the community to shift culture positively. A 4-days film festival will be celebrated in SF Cinema Central World (We love SF). A booth for ticket collection located outside the theatre will be open 30 minutes before the screening of every movie. All movies will be screened in their original languages with Thai and English subtitles as required. Moreover, a number of exhibits, screenings, panel discussions and performances will be showcased in Bacc หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร and Chulalongkorn University.
