Auto-Dynamics solo art exhibition by MAHA

MAHA is a contemporary Thai artist working with black & white colors for most of his paintings. He is an abstract expressionist using his hands and arms as paint brushes.

For his live performance, MAHA and AFTER ART will combine sounds and art using projector to create a happening art.

After Art (from London) is a collaborative project (currently based in Bangkok) - working principally in film, theatre and sound-art. They are currently working on/ supporting Ari Arthouse (the monthly music/art event), the film Kickflip (due Q3 2019) and has collaborated with Kreangkrai Sangtong on the sound-art piece Perceived Sound for Bangkok Galleries Night 2019 (Yelohouse Gallery).

After Art has previously performed/ worked in Japan (DJing - 100% Design/ Tokyo Design Week), Spain (sound art - Sonar), South Korea (DJing & sound art - art events), Malaysia (film soundtracks), Bangladesh (DJing and music education) and UK (London Fashion Week/ South Bank Centre/ 24 Hour Book/ short films/ DJing + sound design).

After Art is signed to Akaliko Records, with the previous EP (Necessary Fiction) relesed in 2018 and the next EP (Psychogeography) to be released by the year end.



AUTO – DYNAMICS

Abstract shape often created when people want to draw freely. Getting to know yourself that representative the "accidentally" by " intentionally ". It reminds you of an automatic machine, before the assumption of meaning from recognition.

Auto-Dynamics series are set of artworks that express shapes that happens automatically without a pattern. Molded from experience, latent with driving power. This movement is not a matter of "power" in physics, but an unstable identity that moves dynamically. Demonstrate through 2 dimensional abstract patterns with the sudden stamp technique, to convey the power of the motion of shapes that reflects change, which is the only truth that shows up when overlook the meaning of things.

รูปทรงนามธรรม มักถูกสร้างขึ้นเสมอ เมื่อต้องการเขียนรูปอย่างอิสระ การทำความรู้จักกับตนเองที่แสดงออกอย่าง “ไร้ใจ” แบบ “จงใจ” ทำให้นึกถึงตัวตนที่เปรียบดังจักรกลที่แสดงปฏิกิริยาอย่างอัตโนมัติ ก่อนเกิดการสมมุติความหมายจากการรับรู้

ผลงานชุด Auto-Dynamics ตัวตนพลวัต เป็นการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานที่แสดงออกถึงรูปทรง ที่เกิดขึ้นอย่างเป็นอัตโนมัติ ไร้แผนการ แต่หล่อหลอมจากการสั่งสมประสบการณ์ แฝงด้วยพลังการขับเคลื่อน ซึ่งรูปลักษณ์ที่เคลื่อนไหวนี้ ไม่ใช่เรื่องของ”กำลัง”ตามความเป็นจริงในทางฟิสิกส์ หากแต่เป็นตัวตนที่ไม่คงที่ หวั่นไหว เป็นพลวัต โดยแสดงออกผ่านผลงานทัศนศิลป์รูปแบบนามธรรม 2มิติ ด้วยเทคนิควิธีการประทับรอยอย่างฉับพลัน เพื่อสื่อให้เห็นถึงพลังการเคลื่อนไหวของรูปทรง ที่สะท้อนการเปลี่ยนแปลง ซึ่งเป็นความจริงเดียวที่แสดงตัวขึ้น เมื่อมองข้ามความหมายของสิ่งต่างๆ
