Manycuts Artspace I ari proudly presents our latest exhibition, As If It Never Existed by Arjinjonathan Arjinkit, curated by Lyla Phimanrat. The exhibition will be on view from 12th November 2022 through 15 January 2023. The exhibition reception will be on Saturday, 12th November 2022, from 5 pm. onward. The exhibition opening will be part of Galleries’ Night 2022.

 

As If It Never Existed (2022) is Arjinjonathan’s latest work series. In the exhibition, audiences are invited to look at the painting as a ‘painting'. Arjinjonathan tempts audiences to exclude each person's experience of the outside world from the painting, and explore the possibilities of the works in the exhibition with the eyes of looking at the paintings

 

As If It Never Existed (2022) was created with the artist’s ambition to create moments while the audience stands in front of the painting. When we look at a painting, we tend to look for the relation of the painting to what we are familiar with either intentionally or not. However, in this exhibition, we invite and challenge viewers to put down their own familiarity and try to search for the beauty of seeing the artworks.

 

Works in this series are created with a bright and vibrant palette, with the artist’s intention to create deception through the use of layering forms, spaces, dots, lines, colors, and other elements. The mentioned elements were crafted meticulously, hence, not to create perfection, on the contrary, to create imperfection. The tiny twisted lines or dots of color form a different perception. Otherwise, it could be easily overlooked. We could say that Arjinjonathan created the ‘As If It Never Existed’ series out of imperfection ingeniously and exquisitely
