RCB Film Club "The Mysteries"
"How well do you know your favorite artists?"
RCB Film Club is thrilled to present the latest artist film series "The Mysteries," which will delve into the lives of two prominent artists from opposite eras whose lives remain a mystery - Leonardo da Vinci and Edward Hopper.
The first film is titled "LEONARDO: THE WORKS," and it provides an in-depth look at a number of Leonardo Da Vinci's most well-known works, such as the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Lady with an Ermine, Ginevra de' Benci, Madonna Litta, Virgin of the Rocks, and more. The documentary takes a look at Leonardo's life through the perspective of his art, showing his creativity, skill as a sculptor, foresight as a soldier, and composure in the face of a dangerous political climate.
The following film, "Hopper," features Edward Hopper's artworks, which are among the most well-known, respected, and mysterious in America. His work has influenced countless artists, photographers, filmmakers, and musicians. This film will also reveal who he was and his journey from struggling illustrator to famous artist capable of producing so much incredible work.

Leonardo da Vinci is acclaimed as the world’s favorite artist. Many TV shows and feature films have showcased this extraordinary genius but often not examined closely enough is the most crucial element of all: his art.
Leonardo’s peerless paintings and drawings will be the focus of “Leonardo: The Works”, as the film presents every single attributed painting, in Ultra HD quality, never seen before on the big screen. Key works include The Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Lady with an Ermine, Ginevra de’ Benci, Madonna Litta, Virgin of the Rocks, and more than a dozen others.
This film also looks afresh at Leonardo’s life – his inventiveness, his sculptural skills, his military foresight and his ability to navigate the treacherous politics of the day – through the prism of his art. Released in 2019, the year marking the 500th anniversary of Leonardo's death, the film is the first to comprehensively tell the artist's life story.
