GJ Kuijpers' work at Pulse Gallery is divided into two categories.

- Portraits. In his portraits, he attempts to reveal what we conceal behind our masks, the dark side, the side that our surroundings do not see. This is reflected in the outcome: even though the portraits are looking directly at you, each portrait evokes a hidden world of emotions.

- Nude and erotic works. In this series, he depicts exhibitionism and self-love. People who aren't afraid or embarrassed to show their true selves because there's no need to. After reading an article about an exhibition in the Netherlands where photos of nudity were displayed in a special separate room behind curtains, as well as some articles/discussions about the problems with nudity in art in general, he decided to respond by creating erotic works to encourage people to be proud of their body and sexuality, and that there is nothing wrong with nudity, (self) affection, porn, or intimacy.
