Contaminations: Trends in Italian and International Product Design
by Istituto Marangoni
Milan’s last furniture fair has shown it clearly: nothing is what it seems or maybe not what you expect. Relationships between product and interiors, fashion, technologies, period styles, materials, functions and even different civilizations and feelings of cultural belonging have become fluid and age-old dogmas been given up or played with, often in search for emotional responses.
This presentation focuses on the melting pot phenomena in design and examines cross-influences and contaminations in Italian and international product design with references to the latest trends presented on the fairs in Milan, Cologne and Paris.
