“Wooh! We’re going to Ibizia! Back to the island!” – Venga Boys, 1999.
Well, we’re not going to Ibiza, but we are going to Quest Festival 2017 in Hanoi.
Slum Disco were asked by the lovely boys & girls at Quest to assemble a Disco team to represent Bangkok at this year’s festival. Deciding on who to take with us was easy: The Nite Ride crew have been doing their Modern Boogie & Funk thing at our spiritual home – Studio Lam – for a lot longer than Chote has had his trendy hipster haircut.
So, in celebration of our first collaboration with another local crew, we’re throwing a pre-party-party. It’s like a pre-party-ception. You can fully expect the entire evening to be directed by Christopher Nolan, with Leonardo DiCaprio playing a special Rare Groove set with his spinning top.
And yes, we’re charging on the door for this event. With 5 DJs on the bill who all need to eat, we’ve put a small charge of 200 baht on the door, but come before 11pm and it’ll only be 100 baht. Or just don’t come at all because we can always eat Mama Noodles for the rest of the month.
Lineup:
Boogie G (Nite Ride)
Gramaphone Children (Nite Ride)
Lows (Nite Ride)
Chote (Slum Disco Soundsystem)
Tek Harrington (Slum Disco Soundsystem)
Dress Code: Kao San Road attire friendly.
