GLOM GLOM! Children’s Festival is Back
The fun and frolics of GLOM GLOM! Children's Festival is returning to Chiang Mai this Children’s Day, January 13th – this year packed with even more activity, entertainment and creative pom pom mayhem than ever before.
Children of all ages are invited to attend this spectacular Children’s Day festival, where they can meet and play with wacky pom pom characters, master new skills in artsy workshops and be witness to an exclusive performance of children’s music and theatre unlike anything seen before in Chiang Mai.
The GLOM GLOM! Children’s Festival will take place on January 13th, 2024 at the Old Chiangmai Cultural Centre on Wualai Road. The one-day festival organised by the pioneering theatre group Glom, will open its doors at 3pm and run into the evening with lots on offer for both kids and adults alike.

Those lucky enough to have met with the Pom Pom Playground crew at various events over the last month, including the Citylife Garden Fair, CMIS Christmas Market and the Family Christmas Market at Weave Artisan Society will have had a special peek into what’s on offer – but expect much much more at the festival itself.
The festival is specifically designed for children, with a plethora of exciting performances and interactive workshops to get involved with – each one designed to inspire imagination and promote free play experiences. The MUCH-LOVED sing-a-long, dance-a-long concert is returning this year, with a series of theatrical and musical performances on offer. This year’s lineup includes brand new children’s music written by Glom especially for the event that will be recorded live and turned into an album after the event.
Local bands and performers will also join the event, including Ming & SuperRich, Solar System, Taesimong, Apichat Pakwan, Baanteuk Superboogie, Saipa Firearts, Max Du Soleli, Thunderbug!, Mali the Flamenco dancer, and many other roaming performers, magicians, balloon artists, face painting and more!
In the workshop zone, kids can craft costumes and instruments that can then be used on a special “open-mic” stage throughout the day. Pom pom making will also be open to all, adding to the event’s theme of pom pom people. For kids adventurous enough, a hidden theatre found deep inside a mirror maze will be sure to impress.
Food and drinks of all kinds will also be on offer, with Kad Mua market stalls and some of Chiang Mia’s finest food vendors serving food tailored to kids. For parents, a bar operated by Markie Beer will serve snacks and drinks to keep “big children” entertained.
Entry to the event costs 500 Baht and 200 Baht for Adults and Children respectively, and includes access to the pom pom playground, pom pom making, hidden theatre and all interactive stage performances. Tickets can be purchased on TicketMelon before the event, at various ticket stands across city events and markets or at the door on the day. https://www.ticketmelon.com/glom/glomglomchildrensfestival24
With a vision to promote creative imagination and the separation of technology and mind for children, this event is a phone-free, mask-free event. Phones will be sealed in a bag upon entry but can be kept with you at all times, and cash is the only form of payment allowed. The festival will provide transfer exchanges for cash at the front gate.
