Nok, a young country girl from a rural Lao village has taken a job as a helper for a wealthy distant cousin, Ana, in the capital that is losing her sight. While her sight diminishes, Ana begins noticing shadowy figures on the edges of her peripheral vision which deliver a numeric message she cannot recall or decipher. Only Nok, the sole witness of these hauntings, can recall the numbers and uses them in the Lao lottery and wins. She must choose whether to help her cousin through the encounters or help herself with her new found wealth.
