A monthly cultural studies film session hosted by cultural researcher and author Viriya Sawangchot. This month will be a 2013 documentary by Cardin Arifin & Rangga Aditiawan on a collaborative project with Indonesian contemporary dance and experimental music, with original music by Flukeminimix and Gustaff H. Iskandar.

Screening starts at 8pm and will be followed by a casual discussion.

FLUKEMINIMIX PULSATING STAR (2013)
Flukeminimix with Gustaff H. Iskandar and Ine Arini hold a collaborative Project called Pulsating Star, a contemporary dance and experimental music and its supporter visualization. This project is an attempt to bring together, close and re-familiarising between humans with nature, humans with universe, humans with God; through a free experimentation where art and science are integrated and processed into a form of motion, sound, music and visual each respond to one another so intertwined into a single harmonious whole.

The first show was held at Wisma Kerkhoven, the Bossach Observatory area, and the second show called “Menyapa Semsta” was held in Padepoka Seni Mayang Sunda, Bandung. This documentary film is dedicated to Bosscha Observatory, the oldest observatory in Indonesia. The observatory is located in Lembang, north of Bandung, West Java, Indonesia.

VIRIYA SAWANGCHOT
A cultural researcher based in Bangkok, Thailand. He was an API senior fellow (2013-2014), Asian Public Intellectual program, Nippon Foundation, and has previously taught in Cultural Studies program, Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia, Mahidol University, Thailand.
