His intricate melodic beats combine shades of Hip Hop, House, Soul, Jazz and beyond - aptly labeled by Earmilk as taking ‘ambient music to a whole new level’.

Having shared the stage with the likes of ODESZA, Submotion Orchestra and even touring Europe with Bonobo, his live sets have become a thing of beauty. Good news, he's also been flexing his DJing muscles dropping Future Hip Hop, RnB & Electronica gold for the likes of Mixmag, Earmilk & Thump with his regular slot on Radar Radio also kicking up a storm.

When he’s not collecting glowworms and growing rare fruits, Catching Flies finds the time to make music. Music that pleasures your ears – a bass heavy yet melodic mesh of broody electronics and intricate rhythms, containing shades of everything from hip-hop to house, from soul to jazz.

It all began in late 2012, when a 22 year-old Catching Flies decided to self-release his first EP, The Stars. The EP’s lead track hit the coveted #1 spot on The Hype Machine (a feat he has gone on to repeat), and the EP has been downloaded an impressive 25,000 times to date. After the success of this first EP, the young producer uploaded a number of remixes and bootlegs, further laying down his own unique groove and carving out his own niche. Having since gone on to receive millions of plays on YouTube and attention from BBC radio, Catching Flies dropped another self-released EP, The Long Journey Home, which took ‘ambient music to a whole new level’ (Earmilk).
Catching Flies dropped a surprise track online in December 2014 - Quiet Nights received over 1 million streams in just 2 weeks, gaining him huge traction online amongst old fans and new. A much anticipated EP is due in Spring 2015.
Catching Flies went on the road as European tour support for electronic-jazz behemoth Bonobo in 2014, armed with a batch of unreleased tracks and a brand new live set. Shows with the likes of ODESZA and Submotion Orchestra soon followed. Catching Flies has also been flexing his muscles as a club DJ, with online mixes for the likes of Mixmag, Earmilk, Solid Steel, Thump and i-D under his belt, as well as a number of DJ shows set for Europe in 2015. On top of this, he has a monthly 2-hour show on super cool London-based digital station, Radar Radio.
After all this praise and kudos, you sense that this is only the beginning of something very special indeed.
