‘Dek Lao Mai’, a photo exhibition about stories of 25 children and 36 photos with different aspects of life, religion, education and geography. The stories are re-enacted with film camera photos under the concept “Innovation and Relationship with Surrounding Objects”
It can sound distant to children when it comes to the word ‘Innovation’ but in fact, it surrounds us. Innovation can be the creation of things, processes or services that bring solutions and enrich our lives. It is also an indication that individuals, communities, society and cultures are merged into each other. However, some innovations can be overlooked, ignored or replaced by the times.
Therefore, the artists wanted the children to revisit the importance of small objects around them and portray pictures of the stories. in order to bring about ‘Innovation and Relationships’.
Photography is a medium that can tell many stories about their lives; friendships, issues and relationships between ‘the children’ and their everyday surroundings. Yet children’s stories are addressed and viewed from a third-party viewpoint several times depending on who writes or tells, this makes it different and misunderstood. The photo exhibition ‘Dek Lao Mai’, wants to open up a different narrative view from the children’s perspective.
