วัตถุประสงค์ของการจัดงานในครั้งนี้ เพื่อเป็นการระดมความคิดเห็นจากทั้ง คนในชุมชน คนจากนอกชุมชนทั้งในและต่างประเทศ ทั้งที่เป็นผู้อาศัยและศิลปิน ให้ได้มีโอกาสแลกเปลี่ยนแนวคิดเห็นและแชร์ประสบการณ์ซึ่งกันและกัน
ไม่ว่าอะไรจะเกิดขึ้นนับจากนี้ในอีก3 ปีข้างหน้า มันจะคือการที่เราทุกคนมีส่วนร่วม "ทำ" มันขึ้นมา

Introduction to Master of Advanced Studies in Art & Society – Jay Koh, artist-curator and educator.
The Master of Advanced Studies in Art & Society program is provided by the Zurich University of the Arts, one of the major universities of the arts in Europe. It responds to art’s contemporary challenges and its unique contribution to further develop the wellbeing of society.
This introductory session is facilitated by artist-curator Jay Koh (Doctor Fine Art). He is an MAS Art & Society adviser, author, and module supervisor for Art Led Participatory Processes and Local Contexts & the Everyday, in Havana, Cuba. This session discusses and explores the programme’s strengths and clarifies how the programme supports participants to help them gain knowledge, experience, and expertise in real world settings in Southeast Asian contexts, and abroad.
MAS Art & Society provides local blended learning with international experts. The modules are practice based, action oriented and research informed. The participants gain context-sensitive practice experience, research knowledge and know-how.
This MAS in Art & Society incorporates open and progressive processes to allow participants to choose from a variety of modules which take place in CH-Zurich, CU-Havana, and ID-Jatiwangi, among other places.
Participants study at their own pace of up to a duration of 6 years to complete the program.
The modules are taught by educators working in different institutions and as independent practitioners around the world.
This program emphasises holistic processes, reflects public practices, and provides knowledge and experience working with art in everyday and real-life situations.
The program is conceived and managed by the directors' team Prof. Dominique Lämmli, Dr. Annemarie Bucher, and Lee Chun Fung. It starts in February 2018.
