Expedition Voskhod, 15,000 miles madvanture from Moscow to Bali in two Soviet-era Volgas.
A music band, a cinematographer, and an artist teamed up to do something that had never been accomplished before. They are going to drive their old Volgas through half of the world. The itinerary is about 24,000 km (15,000 miles) long, and it is going to cover such countries as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, and then via western and eastern Tibet on to Laos, Cambodia, THAILAND, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.
"We strive to play as many gigs as possible along the way and make a documentary about people like us: indie musicians, artists, poets, tattooists and heroes of local South-East Asian artistic scene. We've picked a very challenging itinerary. Each km of road is a sign of people's support. Our adventure will be filled with live gigs, creative collaborations, exciting encounters, and interviews." - says Ilya, the leader and mastermind of this project.
You can follow this project in real time on the expedition's web-site, and on its social media platforms.
