On the 19th May Flex N Bass will return for the third installment of its brand new monthly residency at Base Bar, Sukhumvit Soi 18. Flexout Audio’s DJ/Producer Retraflex and Bassdrive/UB Radio’s DJ Amnesty will once again combine forces to deliver another dose of fresh, cutting edge Drum & Bass but this time it will be a celebration.

Flex N Bass this month will be hosting DJ Amnesty’s Birthday Bash and to celebrate they will be inviting their first special guest, Phatfunk’s DJ Instinct. Hailing from Bournemouth UK, he began DJing at the tender age of 14 and later gained his first releases on One Nation compilation albums as well as Destiny Records. Upon moving to Thailand he created the ‘Phatfunk’ brand and began promoting successful DnB events bringing some of the biggest names in the scene such as Marcus Intalex, Calibre and Alix Perez to Bangkok. After 23 years in the game Instinct brings a deep knowledge and depth of history to his sets, representing the full spectrum of the D&B genre. Expect a set of epic proportions showcasing the most upfront forward thinking bass music, perfect for Bangkok’s latest underground event Flex N Bass!

Wes Amnesty said “In the UK it’s a tradition for DnB events to hold Birthday Bashes for their DJs. I am just lucky that my Birthday just happens to fall at the same time as Flex N Bass! I am looking forward again to laying down some fresh drums and I could not think of a better way to celebrate my Birthday! Since it is a special occasion we felt it appropriate to bring in our first special guest, Phatfunk’s DJ Instinct. He is a DJ that I and Retraflex have a huge amount of respect for because he really has been a pivotal part of the Bangkok DnB scene for the last decade. His event ‘Phatfunk’ has long been a staple of the Bangkok underground scene and they have put on some of the biggest and best DnB parties the city has ever seen.
