Those that witnessed Battles first performance in Bangkok back in 2009 will attest to them being one of the best live bands touring today. A big hit on the festival circuit with regular performances at Fuji Rock and other iconic festivals, Battles have become famous for their intricate and dynamic math-rock sets, having made waves with their debut album Mirrored and the follow-up Gloss Drop. They are now back with an extensive world tour, new album La Di Da and single The Yabba. For those yet to experience the band, the various live sessions and concerts online give a taste of what this band can do on stage with no laptops or backing tracks. Through a combination of live-looping and some serious musicianship, the three members of Battles are able to create a live sound unmatched by any other band.

Frustrated by lack of interest in Bandung, bedroom electropop outfit Bottlesmoker went online to build up a band of loyal followers across SE Asia, winning distribution deals in the USA and becoming one of Indonesia’s most successful Do-It-Yourself artists. This DIY approach continues with their music with the use of a bizarre selection of toy instruments and retro Japanese gadgetry complimenting their colourful live performances.Now well loved in their home country, Bottlesmoker regularly perform at festivals across the region, including Thailand’s Big Mountain Music Festival in 2012.
