Undisputed heavyweights Artificial Intelligence make their Bangkok debut at PHATFUNK this February. The production duo have been bashing our ear drums for 13 years now, across labels such as Shogun Audio, V RECORDINGS, Good Looking Records, Soul:r, Full Cycle and many many more.

Hot off the back of their recent No.01 album 'Timelines' on Metalheadz, these guys are gonna bring you a night of bass to remember. If you've ever come to PhatFunk then you would've heard their tracks getting rinsed every single month like 'Let It Be', 'Blind Eye', 'What You Had' & 'You Can Dream' to name a few.

Also joining our guest lineup will be DJs Yutaka (Grind Records, Japan) & Tomishi (DMC 2014 Japan finalist). These guys have got some serious turntablist skills. Check the video link to see Tomishi in action.

Hailing from North London, Artificial Intelligence are a production duo comprising of Zula Warner and Glenn Herweijer. Riding high on their early success they want to spread music "to as many people as possible". For AI, "It's the satisfaction of making it but also of spreading it to as many people as possible. Not like a preacher or someone on the TV. Preferring to let their music do the talking across the world, AI continue to make their mark. Over the years they have spanned the slightly darker side, with releases out on Commercial Suicide and 31 Records, as well as flirting with some other labels including Full Cycle, Goodlooking and CIA. A.I have even dabbled with commercial labels, releasing remixes of some of the biggest dance and hip hop tracks of the past few years including Kelis' Trick Me, Eric Prydz Slammin' and more recently Fat Freddys Drop Cays Crays.

Since their first release, 'Hooked On', on V Recordings in 2003, AI's reputation has been growing with each release with "Desperado" voted as top DnB track of 2007 by Radio 1 listeners and their single "Uprising" voted by the public as the biggest d'n'b track on BBC Radio 1 in 2006. With regular support from the likes of Grooverider, Fabio, LTJ Bukem, Goldie, Hype, Andy C, Chase & Status and massive remixes for Kelis, Eric Prydz, Roni Size and Goldie. A.I. are one of DnB's leading lights.

2013 began with a 3 track EP on V Recordings, with Dan Bowskill collaboration "Mind Control", holding the Number 1 spot in BBC’s Drum & Bass charts for several weeks, alongside a Marky & S.P.Y. remix of "Let It Be". Following this came a huge Metalheadz single, featuring dancefloor destroyer “Dillirious” and Steo collab “What You Had”. Soon after came their debut EP for Shogun Audio, entitled “You Can Dream”, featuring guest vocalists DRS, Jamakabi and Steo, before preparing a full live project alongside Kathy Brown, with “Somebody To Love” on UKF Music.

2014 has seen a continued increase in material towards an album in the next year. With their track “War Horse” with DRS makes the sampler for the legendary Metalheadz Platinum Breakz series and selling out all copies, 2014 has also been an exciting time for Integral Records: a debut compilation album featuring the likes of Calibre, Alix Perez, Zero T, Technimatic & Scar has just been released, heading straight to #1 in the Redeye and Juno charts, with the A.I. remix of Lenzman’s “Ever So Slightly” receiving strong airtime from Friction on BBC Radio 1, a 9/10 rating in DJ Mag plus their “Money Shot” for June 2014, as well as earning the accolade of Mixmag’s “Album of the Month” to top it off.

With heavyweight DJ reputations in parallel to their impressive production credentials, Artificial Intelligence are also renowned for delivering their fresh and versatile sets around the globe, headlining the world’s finest clubs and festivals. In their hometown of London, they regularly guest at Fabric and feature on all of the prestigious nights around the city—namely Hype's Tru Playaz, Andy C's Ram, Goldie’s Metalheadz, Marcus Intalex's A Bunch Of Cuts and nights presented by V Recordings.

DJ TOMOSHI

DJ Tomishi is a Drum&Bass and Bass music turntablist. Using 3 decks, he creates his original groove rebuilding beats with juggling scratch techniques. As a turntablist, he has been the DMC 2014 Japan finalist, and also won the 5th edition of the Grind DJ Battle.

DJ YUTAKA
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
Based in Osaka Japan, Yutaka started his career as a DJ and then in 1998 opened his own record shop Grind Records & D&B label Grind Records in 2007. He later started his party in Osaka called Heavyweight in 2010. His DJ style blends liquid, deep, and jump up flavors, only using vinyls.
