Speaker: Tony Hughes (Co-founder & Director - Focus Innovation and UK GEP Dealmaker)

Profile Speaker: Tony is co-founder and Director of Focus Innovation, an innovation agency that operates in the Creative Digital space, working with developers and content creators to commercialise new products in the marketplace.  Tony also has a new start-up, Curator Technologies, that helps international businesses to set up in other territories by providing bespoke market and sector intelligence to inform their global strategy. Tony has been the Department for International Trade’s Sector Champion for Digital Content and Global Entrepreneur Programme (GEP) Dealmaker since 2008. As part of the GEP Tony mentors and helps to relocate the most promising overseas based entrepreneurs looking to scale up through a move from the UK to Asia and the U.S. Having started out working in television and print media, Tony was instrumental in establishing a New Media Lab research centre in the late 1990s bringing together business and university researchers. He also established the UK’s first digital content dedicated business start-up centre in 2001.
