     When Carl Benz unveiled the Benz Patent-Motorwagen in 1886 at the Ringstrasse in Mannheim, he transformed transportation forever.

     Today, the transformation continues in Germany with the goal of "one million electric vehicles on the road by 2020" as part of the National Electromobility Development Plan.

     So, it's fitting that engineers and automakers return annually to the region of the car’s beginning to look to the future of automobiles.
