Having worked in game making, software and the world of visual arts, Stephen Black is now forming an AR startup. The startup is guided by his own ideas, as well as the results of his year-long thirteen city research tour of Southeast Asia. This tour forms the basis of what will be his eighth book, The Year of Spikes.
Stephen’s career path has resulted in unusual projects with talented individuals as well as industry recognition. His sales tape for Cartoon Network Japan was featured at the Promax awards. His clients have included CNN, Sony-Epic, Fox, Fuji TV and France 2. He has worked with creative legends like Kazuo Ono, Annie Leibovitz and Kumiko Akiyoshi as well as countless indie artists, including 3how a music/theatre ensemble. A project based on legendary New York photographer Toyo Tsuchiya is now being planned.
