BIG FOOD - For the Love of Food (and Drink)
We love food. And we know that we're not the only ones.
World Food Day is coming up (that's right, there is one!) and we thought it would be a good excuse to celebrate.
In addition to showcasing some of the most talented and innovative culinary talents in the city (we're expecting ERR Urban Rustic Thai, Gula Bangkok,Seven Spoons, 80/20bkk, Sloane's, Maison Jean Philippe, Barrio Bonito at The Commons - Thonglor 17, CHOMP, HARVEST restaurant, Mad Moaamong others), the event will be a celebration of the different types of food the city has to offer and where it is going in the future (this will include food and sustainability thought leaders like RECOFTC, ร้านคนจับปลา fisherfolk,Oxfam in Thailand, Taste of Thailand Food Tours).
In addition to the burgers, pizza, and craft beers (think Beervana, Udomsuk Brewing and other well known names), there's more. Much more. Edible insects? Check. Wild forest foods? Check. Sustainable seafood? Check. We love to party and we also love to think about what the next generation of sustainable food looks like.
The Big Food event will cover several sois in addition to being based at Cho Why, turning this into a mega block party. Local businesses are joining in the food celebrations with TEP BAR, El chiringuito, Site-Specific Company Limited, Trackaddict Records and others opening their doors and showcasing their wares.
And it's not all about food. There's going be salsa dancing to (Bangkok Salsa Tuesdays), cool art creation thanks to artist Sath on the rooftop and activities for lil' ones. And great live tunes. Proceeds from this event will go to supporting a women's agroforestry project being implemented in Nepal byRECOFTC - The Center for People and Forests, Trees and Bees, please! (http://www.recoftc.org/events/celebrate-world-food-day-and-support-trees-bees-please-nepal-project).
For the love of food, get down and get ready for Big Food!
