Join us in this workshop where the core concepts of sustainable buildings will be introduced in clear, simple, and non-technical terms that can be understood universally.
Theories and practices of green buildings will be presented through examples of building designs, construction, material choices, and post-occupancy performance. The LEED green building certification system is administered by the U.S. Green Building Council, which is the most established system in the world. This workshop will introduce examples of successful LEED certified buildings and buildings currently undergoing certification in Thailand.
Six LEED assessment categories (e.g. location, site, energy, water, materials, and indoor air quality) will be presented on their importance, their benefit, and their attainability through good design and wise investment. Moreover, incentives and program regarding gross floor area bonus will be clarified so that prospective real estate investors and green product suppliers will see opportunity for this transforming global market.
