|| Oskar Offermann ||

The Berlin-based DJ and producer Oskar Offermann has been nothing short of ambitious since it took hold. In 2007 he founded the cheekily named, graphically focused WHITE label as a hub for his own productions, as well those by his friends including Edward, Nu, Moomin and Tristen.

A second label followed in 2011, Rimini, which puts a premium on being vinyl-only and has offered eccentric edits from a varied crowd. He also collaborated with Moomin, Kareem and with his DJ Partner Edward. Oskar Offermann remixed tracks for artist like John Talabot, Osunlade, Bloodgroup, Zola Jesus and many others.

He plays regulary worldwide in clubs like Panorama Bar/Berghain (Berlin), Robert Johnson (Frankfurt), Output (New York), Rex (Paris) and holds a residencies at OMA (Hong Kong) and Hinterhof (Basel).

Groomed at an early age in the much underrated Portuguese underground scene, Rui’s first love for music was with the dark soundscapes of techno. But unlike a handful of DJs whose typical music journey saw house as the starting point before discovering the dark side, Rui’s journey is somewhat the opposite.

His early influences include the techno titan, Dixon, then later, the much more eclectic and daring MCDE. Rui’s journey didn’t just move along the house-to-techno spectrum, his path has been multidirectional. His passion now stretches between the piercingly soulful sounds of house, to the heavy yet melodic chords of techno, from the rawness of hip-hop and to anything with a driving groove be it soul, funk or disco.

Making his mark in the Bangkok music scene after only 2 years, you may have seen him supplying the music at Glow, Live RCA and Beam with his undeniably dark selection; or you can see him fronting the decks with a much softer and soulful sound at the likes of Viva 8, The Commons, Vertigo Too and Gramercy Park.
