Event Information

House of Lucie presents ‘Tales From The Local Minivan – Journeys through Africa.’

A talk by Thai/Australian Diane Durongpisitkul on her travels and photography throughout parts of the African Continent

This talk will explore Diane’s travels and photography across multiple countries in the African Continent, most of which were largely reached by the humble local minivan. As a budget traveler, the local minivan was an integral component connecting her to the communities to which she traveled. In her words, - “being on a budget was my apparatus of immersion into foreign environments. When you are a budget traveler, you obviously go with less and are limited to what you are able to do financially, however, this can be positive. As a result, you ride local transport, eat at local eateries and stay where locals stay, rather than where other tourists are, which leads to a more authentic experience and compelling visual stories.”

If you like travelling and taking photographs, don't miss this event. See you on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. From 7.00pm - 9.00 pm at House of Lucie ( No.1 Ekkamai soi 8, Wattana, Bangkok 10110)
