Christiane F. directed by Uli Edel. It's title in Germany was Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo, means "We children of Zoo Station". The film based on an autobiographical book, Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo (1979), written by Christiane Vera Felscherinow, a German actress and musician. By the time she was 14, she became part of a group of teenage drug-users and sex workers who hung around mainly at West Berlin's then-largest train station Bahnhof Zoo. Much of the movie is shot in the actual surroundings of Gropiusstadt and Bahnhof Zoo, West Berlin, where were locations of the Berlin drug scene in the late of 70s. Felscherinow was a big fan of David Bowie at that time and attended the 1976 show of the Station to Station tour in Berlin which was opened by the song "Station to Station".
