Hello designers and artists! How many of you out there use Photoshop as your primary design tool, or perhaps Illustrator for graphics?

Have you ever heard of two pieces of software called: Black Ink and Hexels? They are what we term: Abstract design / illustration tools. Both tools are incredibly diverse and artistic so that those of you out there looking for the high-level technicalities of Photoshop and Illustrator will feel right at home, however, there's two very important factors to bear in mind!

1) Black Ink plays with the idea of randomisation! - From brush stroke weight to accented patterns, Black Ink loves to randomise the intensity and style on the fly without your input!

2) Hexels allows you to draw whatever you want. No really, it does! ...So long as you're happy with whatever you draw being made of hexagons! If you've ever seen pixel art or some illustrations that seem to appear largely isometric, this is how it's done!

Although 2 strange-sounding bits of software, BSD would like to invite anyone: beginners to advanced artists, to come and try something new and modern to design and illustration. This workshop will go through the basics of both software packages and allow for lots of hands-on time.

This workshop will be FREE, First 15 mins will be networking activity. We strongly recommend you bring your own laptops with the software pre-installed although we do have some desktop computers for you to use.
