Do you know where do the clothes that you wear everyday come from and where will they go?

In period of consuming society, represented by luxury shopping malls filled with abundant modern clothes , we have lost opportunities to know more about “contents” of clothes. This workshop makes it possible to experience the process of recycling clothes :from cloths to cotton, cotton to yarn, yarn to textile. And you can bring it back as accessories. The workshop aims to give an opportunity to reconsider the relationship between clothes and yourself by experiencing the production and deconstruction process. We hope your point of view will change when you look for clothes next time.

[INSTRUCTOR]
Aiko Monoi is a Keio University graduate who has a wide range of overseas experiences ranging from time South Korea and India to Australia and Thailand. On a recent trip to Thailand, while being grateful for having been raised where she was, Aiko found herself having difficulty in accepting the poor living conditions of many her age. Aiko believes if something bothers you, it is important to do something about it.
