An exploration of the musical traditions of Italy and Japan from the ancient to the contemporary context.
Two musicians meeting and using music to create a cultural bridge between their own cultures, by presenting to each other - and to the audience - their classical/traditional music forms and then from there improvising and venturing together in contemporary music.
Jacopo Gianninoto will play a Lute which was considered to be "the prince of all instruments" in the Renaissance period in Italy, while Haruka Kawahigashi will perform a Nagauta Shamisen one of the most characteristic instrument in the Japanese tradition.
