วิทยาการหุ่นยนต์ กำลังเป็นเรื่องธรรมดาและเข้ามาเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในชีวิต หุ่นยนต์เริ่มมีปฏิสัมพันธ์กับมนุษย์อย่าง “เป็นธรรมชาติ” ไม่ว่าจะโดยอัตโนมัติ หรือจะมีคนบังคับ แม้ว่าเราจะควบคุมผ่านคีย์บอร์ด หรือปุ่มต่างๆ แบบพื้นๆ แต่ด้วยระบบ telepresence ที่ถูกพัฒนาอย่างรวดเร็วและใช้งานได้ง่ายขึ้น ระบบนี้จะช่วยให้มนุษย์ติดต่อสื่อสารได้เสมือนจริง และ “เข้าใจกัน” มากขึ้นในสถานการณ์ต่างๆ โดยมีการผนวกเทคโนโลยีปฏิสัมพันธ์ เช่น haptic rendering, virtual reality, augmented reality, real-time non-linear control และเทคโนโลยีอื่นๆ

Robotics has become more and more common in our everyday life. As part of our life, robots are required to interact “naturally” with humans, either automatic or being controlled. To control a robot, though it is possible through a conventional keyboard and buttons, but a more intuitive method so-called telepresense system has been intensively developed in the past 2 decades. It allows human to “transparently” and virtually interact with scenarios through a robotic system, as if they are working with on their own, but essentially control the robot from a remote area. It incorporates interactive technologies such as Haptic Rendering, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Realtime Non-linear Control, etc. In many area of robotic applications, Telepresense system is foreseen as a gold standard bridging human’s skill with machine flexibility. This seminar will discuss the cause of developments, current state-of-the-art and an insight to the future of this technology.
