COVID 19 has taken us all by surprise. As we slowly adjust to our new normal, many of us are finding ourselves feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about our future. The data is showing us that African Americans are at a higher risk of illness due to a host of structural and systemic factors that predispose us to chronic illness. How do we learn to navigate through these challenging times and prepare for the future while managing our emotional, spiritual, and physical health? How can we use this time to invest in ourselves and our own healing? This virtual retreat is designed with you in mind. We have brought together a powerful group of black professional women who are volunteering their time to provide you with a wealth of information, tools and resources to address emotional, physical, spiritual and financial health.
Recognizing that most of you may be tired of sitting on zoom work calls during the week, we have designed this virtual retreat in 60-minute blocks with an hour or so in between for you to stretch and move around. The day will begin with optional energizing sessions followed by the opening session for the day and subsequent 60 minute sessions. There will be music, artists, and a keynote speech by the legendary Byllye Y. Avery, founder of the Black Women's Health Imperative, and health care activist for 45 years.
